VCIA Sets San Francisco Road Show

NU Online News Service, Nov. 20, 4:09 p.m. EST?The Vermont Captive Insurance Association said it is going on the road to San Francisco with a free seminar explaining how captives operate in Vermont.
The Dec. 5 meeting, titled "Understanding the Strategic Advantages of Captives, Regardless of Market Conditions," will focus on the needs and interests of organizations interested in forming a captive.
Because of increased interest in captives, the association said it has chosen to take the seminars to areas with high concentrations of members and potential members.
Presenters include Derick A. White, assistant director of captive insurance for the Vermont Department of Banking, Insurance and Securities. He will describe the captive climate and regulatory requirements in Vermont, according to VCIA. Vermont is the largest U.S. captive domicile.
The seminar is being held "in response to the increased demand for information about captives and the Vermont domicile," the association said.
The seminar will take place at the Westin St. Francis and is free on a first-come, first-serve basis, the association said.
