AON Reorganizes U.K. Operations

NU Online News Service, Nov. 22, 10:00 a.m. EST, London?Aon is restructuring its United Kingdom reinsurance division as of January 2003, the company announced this week.

Its traditional divisional structure will be replaced with business units dedicated to delivering services to clients along specialty lines and geographic lines, named ReSpecialty and ReGlobal, respectively, the company said.

Aon's announcement also said it has appointed Colin Bryan as chairman of Aon Limited's reinsurance business in the United Kingdom. Mr. Bryan was not available for an interview, although he said in a statement that the restructuring was made in order to meet the changing needs of Aon clients.

Charles Cantlay will head up the ReSpecialty unit, while the ReGlobal unit will be led by David Forcey, Aon said. Both these men are deputy chairmen of Aon's U.K. reinsurance business.

Alan Griffin has been appointed as chief operating officer for the whole of Aon's reinsurance operations, and as chairman of Aon's U.K. reinsurance risk consulting business, which is called ReRisk Consulting.
