GAB Picks McGill For CFO

NU Online News Service, Oct. 28, 1:33 p.m. EST?GAB Robins Group, the claims services firm in Parsippany, N.J., announced today that it has appointed Dennis McGill as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Joseph M. Zubretsky, GAB president and chief executive officer, said Mr. McGill has shown skill "in taking companies public, creating value through financial management and operational improvement, and managing complex capital structures, as well as his successes with mergers and acquisitions, make him uniquely qualified to take GAB Robins to the next level."

Mr. McGill, who was executive vice president at Saver's, Inc., a Berkshire Partners entity, replaces Robert E Broatch, who left the company to join Guardian Life Insurance.

The company said its new CFO will be based at GAB Robins' headquarters in Parsippany, and will be responsible for the financial management of the GAB Robins Group of Companies globally.

Mr. McGill worked at Touche Ross & Company, and later moved to Hastings Entertainment, Inc., where he served as vice president of finance and CFO of the $440 million multimedia retail company.

GAB said that during his time at Hastings, Mr. McGill implemented and managed its investor relations and restructured its video rental business. And, in 1998, Mr. McGill planned and executed Hastings' successful NASDAQ initial public offering.

Mr. McGill has also served as senior vice president of finance and CFO of Miami Cruiseline Services, where he partnered with the private equity firm Berkshire Partners, LLC in the sale of the international retailer to Moet Hennessy-Louis Vuitton.

GAB said that at Savers, Mr. McGill had re-engineered the entire financial infrastructure of the company, including the performance-based compensation and stock option programs, financial planning and performance metrics.

Mr. McGill is a Certified Public Accountant.

GAB Robins, with 4,000 employees and affiliated operations in 43 countries, provides loss adjusting, third-party administration, and managed care services.
