Kentucky Agent Receives Woodworth Award
NU Online News Service, Sept. 23, 1:25 p.m. EST, NEW ORLEANS?William B. Greenwood, president of Lawton Insurance in Central City, Ky., was awarded the Woodworth Memorial Award during the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America New Orleans InfoXchange here on Sunday.
The award, the Alexandria, Va.-based agents association said, is the most distinguished honor it can bestow upon a member for best demonstrating outstanding service benefitting independent agents and the insurance industry.
Long active in both the Independent Insurance Agents of Kentucky and the IIABA, Mr. Greenwood served as president of the national association in 1998. He is credited with developing a long-term strategic plan that the association said is the cornerstone of its planning today.
Mr. Greenwood also was instrumental in the development of InsurBanc and the Agents Council for Technology.
The Woodworth Award was established in 1925 in memory of C.H. Woodworth of Buffalo, N.Y., the association's second president.
