AIA Hires Quigley For Political Director
NU Online News Service, Sept. 18, 9:27 a.m. EST?Joe Quigley, a veteran fundraiser whose employers have included the National Republican Senatorial Committee, has been hired to oversee grassroots political activity for the American Insurance Association, the group announced.
Mr. Quigley, as the Washington-based organization's new political director, will oversee the AIA's political action committee and direct campaigns at the state and federal level, AIA said.
"Joe brings to AIA a track record of success and expertise, and he will play a vital role as AIA continues to increase its public policy and political leadership in Washington and around the country," said Leigh Ann Pusey, AIA senior vice president, federal affairs.
Mr. Quigley, 32, most recently was director of government relations at the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, AIA said.
His prior experience was said to include the development and implementation of nationwide fundraising campaigns for the National Association of Realtors, Citizens for a Sound Economy, and the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
Mr. Quigley is a native of Massachusetts and a graduate of the University of New Hampshire.
The AIA represents 412 major insurance companies that provide all lines of property and casualty insurance and write more than $87 billion annually in premiums.
