NAMIC Names Ulmer VP of IT
NU Online News Service, Aug. 9, 9:37 a.m. EST?The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies announced it has named Michael J. Ulmer vice president of information technology, effective Aug. 1.
Since joining NAMIC in 1992, Mr. Ulmer has been instrumental in building the association's database capabilities, IT infrastructure, and Web presence, NAMIC said.
His duties as IT vice president will include oversight of NAMIC's IT, research, knowledge management, and event registration functions.
He also will oversee NAMIC Web Services, which provide Web design, hosting, electronic messaging, and e-commerce solutions for NAMIC members and affiliate organizations.
"Mike will be responsible for setting the vision and strategies for technology application at NAMIC," said Larry Forrester, NAMIC President. "As a key member of the management team, he will be responsible for making sure we have the necessary tools and are applying technology in ways that maximize our return on investments."
Mr. Ulmer said, "My goals include continued enhancements to NAMIC's organizational knowledge of its members and the property-casualty industry, as well as the effectiveness of our staff in carrying out the mission of this organization."
Before joining NAMIC, Mr. Ulmer held IT positions in the financial services and manufacturing industries.
