Simonson Named Allstate Investment Officer

NU Online News Service, July 15, 1:19 p.m. EST?Allstate Corporation announced today that, effective July 29, it has named Eric A. Simonson chief investment officer and senior vice president as well as president, Allstate Investments LLC.

Mr. Simonson replaces Casey J. Sylla, who is currently serving as acting chief financial officer following the retirement of former CFO John Carl.

Mr. Simonson served at John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in Boston as senior vice president and chief investment strategist. Before John Hancock, he worked at Prudential Insurance, Newark, N.J., where he was president and CEO of Prudential's Private Asset Management Group.

"We are fortunate that we have been able to attract a chief investment officer of Ric's caliber and experience," Allstate Chairman, President and CEO Ed Liddy said today.
