B&B Enters Illinois With Acquisition
NU Online News Service, May 9, 11:25 a.m. EST?Insurance broker Brown and Brown announced the acquisition of an Illinois commercial property-casualty agency that specializes in the solid and liquid waste industry, and marks the firms entry into Illinois.
The Daytona Beach, Fla.?based firm announced the acquisition of Andersen Group, Ltd., of Hinsdale, Ill. The firm said the agency, with about $3.5 million in annualized revenues, is considered a premier agency in its field.
Details of the acquisition were not released.
John P. Andersen, president of the agency, and his staff will continue to operate at their current location under the Andersen Group name, Brown and Brown said.
J. Scott Penny, Brown & Brown's regional executive vice president, said in a statement that the acquisition marks the firm's initial entry in Illinois and the greater Chicago area. Andersen Group also broadens the firm's expertise and opportunities into new markets, he said.
