Alliance Picks New Leaders
NU Online News Service, May 2, 4:14 p.m. EST?The Alliance of American Insurers has named a New Jersey insurance company chief as its new chairman.
Chosen by the Alliance board was Anthony G. "Tony" Dickson, chief executive officer of New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Companies, West Trenton, N.J. The selection was made during the association's 80th annual meeting in Hamilton, Bermuda, this week.
Mr. Dickson will succeed F.W. "Bill" Purmort III, president and chairman of the Central Insurance Companies, Van Wert, Ohio.
The Alliance also named Klaus G. Dorfi, chairman and CEO of Atlantic Mutual Companies, New York, as chairman-elect.
Bruce K. Howson, president and CEO of Sunshine State Insurance Company, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Robert T. Kingsley, president and CEO of Financial Pacific Insurance Company, Sacramento, Calif., were selected as vice chairmen.
The Downers Grove, Ill.?based Alliance represents 338 property-casualty insurers throughout the country, covering a broad range of personal and commercial p-c insurance.
