RIMS Elects Mandel New President
NU Online News Service, April 15, 11:50 a.m., EST, New Orleans?Christopher E. Mandel was elected president of the Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc., it was announced today at the RIMS conference here.
The vote took place yesterday at the society's annual House of Delegates meeting for members of the 2002-2003 Executive Council.
Mr. Mandel, who is assistant vice president, enterprise risk management at USAA, and other elected officers begin their terms May 1. Lance J. Ewing, senior director, risk management, GES Exposition Services, was elected first vice president and chief risk officer.
Also elected vice president were:
? Nancy L. Chambers, vice president-conferences, risk manager, Waterloo Region Municipalities Insurance Pool, Ontario chapter.
? Michael D. Phillipus, vice president-international development, manager, risk management, Pennzoil-Quaker State Company.
? David Mair, vice president-international development, director, risk management, United States Olympic Committee, Ricky Mountain Chapter.
? Carol A. Fox, vice president-professional development, director, risk management, Convergys Corporation, Cincinnati Chapter.
? Randolph A. Thurman, vice president-governance & secretary, director, risk management, Gaylor Entertainment Company, Cumberland Chapter.
Newly elected were:
? Ellen Vinck, Vice president-risk management and benefits, United States Marine Repair, San Diego Chapter.
? Michael Liebowitz, vice president-member & chapter satisfaction, director, risk management, Bridgeport Hospital & Healthcare Services, Fairfield/Westchester chapter.
