B&B Acquires N.J. Agency
NU Online News Service, April 8, 10:53 a.m. EST?The Brown & Brown insurance brokerage announced the acquisition of a New Jersey-based insurance agency today.
The Daytona Beach, Fla.?based firm said its New Jersey subsidiary has acquired RJT, Inc., which does business under the name The Turner Group, located in Parsippany and Freehold, N.J.
The transaction was effective April 1. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Turner Group is an independent insurance agency serving central New Jersey. The agency specializes in retail brokerage and program insurance business, with revenues of approximately $6 million.
Turner Group principals Marian Murphy Weiner and Scott R. Turner and their staff will continue to operate the agency at its current locations, B&B said.
Thomas E. Riley, B&B regional executive vice president, said, in a statement, that the acquisition is part of the firm's plan to broaden its presence in the state and the Northeast market.
