Gallagher Announces Two Acquisitions
NU Online News Service, March 14, 10:41 a.m. EST? Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has announced the acquisition of two East Coast agencies.
The Itasca, Ill. – based insurance broker said it has acquired Life Plans Unlimited, Inc., of Fairfield, Conn., and Tom Sherwin Insurance Agency of Haddonfield, N. J. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed, AJG said in a statement.
Life Plans Unlimited, founded in 1967, is a wholesale life insurance broker specializing in marketing individual life insurance, annuities and long term care coverage for independent brokers.
The agency's executives and staff will continue to operate in their present offices, under the direction of Michael Flynn, area chairman of Flynn Associates, a division of Gallagher Benefit Services.
Tom Sherwin Insurance Agency, established in 1980, offers risk management and property-casualty products and services to commercial and personal line clients. While the agency specializes in commercial accounts, it also provides a full range of personal lines products.
The agency will relocate to Gallagher's Hammonton, N.J. office
Michael J. Cloherty, executive vice president for AJG said the acquisitions continue the firm's growth strategy and would help increase sales and service capabilities on the East coast.
