Fla. Key Insurance Issues See No Action

By Daniel Hays

NU Online News Service, March 26, 12:22 p.m. EST?The Florida Legislature is due to return April 1 for a special session after adjourning last Friday night without acting on an executive branch reorganization measure that would change the control of the insurance department.

The group also failed to act on an insurance industry supported package of reforms for the state's workers' compensation system.

William Stander, Southeast government affairs representative for the Alliance of American Insurers, said insurers and employers "have to get serious and make sure business-oriented candidates are elected to the legislature."

More detail on Florida State House insurance-related activity in Tallahassee will be upcoming from the "NU Online New Service."
