Swiss Re Gives Emblin Global National Post
NU Online News Service, Feb. 13, 10:11 a.m. EST?Swiss Re Americas Division said today it has named Peter Emblin head of its Global & National unit for its U.S. Direct operations.
The Armonk, N.Y.-based unit has its parent reinsurance company located in Zurich, Switzerland.
The Americas Division is Swiss Re?s property and casualty reinsurance business unit for all of the Americas.
Mr. Emblin, the company said, will report to Patrick Mailloux, head of U.S. Direct and Canada for the Americas Division.
In his new post, Mr. Emblin is responsible for managing the property and casualty underwriting activities for the international operations of Swiss Re's clients based in the United States.
Mr. Emblin joined Swiss Re in 1996 as a casualty treaty underwriter in the newly formed Global & National department. Most recently he was the head of one of Global & National's largest client teams.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Mr. Emblin held various positions both in the United States and Europe for Munich Re, including the management of treaty portfolios for global clients at the company's U.S. branch.
