AMS Provides Backup Via LiveVault
AMS Services Inc. announced that it has joined the LiveVault Partner Program in order to offer data backup and recovery services for some AMS users.
LiveVault Corp., based in Marlborough, Mass., which provides backup and recovery, and software developer AMS Services of Windsor, Conn., said the partnership would deliver automatic server backup and data protection to AMS's AfW customers.
AfW is one of AMS's management system solutions for the insurance agency marketplace. Using client-server technology and an SQL database, the AfW system supports significant amounts of mission-critical customer and policy data, the two companies said in a statement.
According to the statement, LiveVault is a fully managed, continuous and reliable service that lets AfW customers back up server data to an off-site facility.
The data can be quickly and easily restored in the event of human error, system failure, virus attack or disaster, the companies said.
With LiveVaults system, there is no longer the need for tape-based backup methods, they added. The LiveVault solution has been initially deployed in select AfW agencies.
"With LiveVault, we're able to offer our customers automatic, continuous and reliable backup and data protection, along with the reassurance that our customers data is easily and accurately restorable, if necessary," said Ken Schultz, senior vice president of the Agency Services department for AMS Services. "Our partnership with LiveVault is a natural extension of our current products and services."
Bo Thurmond, vice president of sales for LiveVault, stated that, "LiveVault is working with superior partners to provide data protection in key vertical markets, and were pleased that insurance agencies will have access to our service through AMS."
