To proceedings will be conducted under the auspices of the NAIC's Reinsurance Task Force on Jan. 17 in the Congressional Room at the Capitol Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Task Force said it expects to hear from policyholders, primary insurers and reinsurers on the availability and affordability of reinsurance coverage now that there is no federal backstop for terrorism losses.
Portions of the meeting may be held in executive session to allow the state regulators to assess specific company information.
The information received at the hearing may lead to the regulators discussing potential changes in the regulation of the reinsurance industry in the United States, the NAIC said.
