MGA Auto Upload System Goes Live
NU Online News Service, Jan. 14, 2:59 p.m. EST?The first successful upload from a new automatic system that allows managing general agents to transfer premium data from their existing systems to their property-casualty insurance company partners has been successfully completed, according to Wyncote, Pa.-based Insurance Data Processing, Inc.
The system, IDP Agency Data Upload, was developed by IDP and used by Irvine, Calif.-based Superior Access, an MGA, to capture and transmit homeowners premium data on behalf of Hudson Insurance, its New York City-based insurance company partner, said IDP. The live upload came after a year of development.
IDP said the new system enabled Superior Access to transfer data from its legacy system to Hudson's VISION 21 system. SYSTEM 21 is IDP's policy management system for small to mid-size p-c companies. The data were transmitted via e-mail to IDP for a series of edits and data verifications, the company noted. The final file was then sent to Hudson and uploaded into its live system.
According to IDP, the data can now be used by Hudson to generate reports on factors such as operating efficiency and premium profitability. It will also allow IDP to submit ISO bureau statistics on Hudson's behalf.
IDP said the system can also be used by third party administrators to electronically transmit TPA data to insurance companies.
