Brent Scowcroft Headlines Industry Forum
NU Online News Service, Jan. 3, 4:12 p.m. EST? A former national security advisor for two Republican administrations and the head of an industry research organization will be featured speakers at the Property-Casualty Insurance Joint Industry Forum Jan. 15-16.
Addressing the group's sixth annual meeting in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York will be retired Air Force Gen. Brent Scowcroft, who served as advisor to Presidents Gerald R. Ford and George H. Bush. He currently heads The Scowcroft Group of international business consultants.
Also speaking will be Richard E. Cavanagh, president and chief executive officer of The Conference Board, a membership organization business research group.
Appearing together at the Forum will be a panel of economic analysts discussing the future of the property-casualty industry.
Panel participants include Kenneth A. Froot, professor of business administration at Harvard University's Graduate School of Business; Robert E. Litan, vice president and director of economic studies, The Brookings Institution; Michael S. Pritula, director, McKinsey & Company; and Alice Schroeder, managing director, Morgan Stanley.
Sean F. Mooney, chief economist and research director for Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc., will moderate the panel.
A panel of insurance company chief executives will also discuss how they see the future of the property-casualty industry.
CEO participants include Raymond Barrette, chairman and chief executive officer, OneBeacon Insurance Group; Edmund F. Kelly, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Liberty Mutual; David B. Mathis, chairman and chief executive officer, Kemper Insurance Companies; and Ronald R. Pressman, chairman, president and chief executive officer, GE Employers Reinsurance Corporation.
Lawrence G. Brandon, president emeritus, American Institute for CPCU Insurance Institute of America, will moderate the CEO panel.
The Forum will conclude with lunch.The sponsoring organizations of the Forum represent a variety of insurance interests and audiences.
