Gd Job
Great editors note in the November issue regarding Tampa (Tampa ber Alles). It may not be insurance specific, but there is no issue that will affect our lives 20 years from now more than this one. And isnt that what insurance is all aboutprotection against future harm?
Frightening to think that although no totalitarian regime on the planet could overtake us by force, we are doing the job for them.
I enjoy your magazine. Keep up the good work.

Anyone With That Many Designations Must Know What Hes Talking About
Today I received a copy of Technology Decisions. I enjoyed the magazine so much that if you would like to use me for articles, research, or have your people plug me for information, please feel free to do so. Keep up the nice work!

Who Said the Vacuous Gaze Ever Left?
Hilarious copy about your experience at the driver-awareness course (The Flip Side, October)! When you asked if the birds popped or just fried in place, did you get that same vacuous gaze I get when I ask my dog a technology question?

Youve Got Personality
Ive said before that the difference between an engaging publication and its not-so-engaging competitors was personality. That put me in mind of a quote from Henry Miller:
If now and then we encounter pages that explode, pages that wound and sear, that wring groans and tears and curses, know that they come from a man with his back up, a man whose only defenses left are his words; and his words are always stronger than the lying, crushing weight of the world, stronger than all the racks and wheels which the cowardly invent to crush out the miracle of personality.
A bit extreme? To be sure. But they remain, for me, the essence of the truth that personality determines distinctiveness.

Welcome Addition
Today I read the current issue of Technology Decisions and saw the Stats Watch page. Thanks again for including the Nolan Companys findings.
I had to chuckle at the reference to P&C Companies as sticks in the mud. I can think of at least a few forward-thinking P&C companies that will cringe at that characterizationyou might get a few e-mails.
Thanks again for including us in Technology Decisions.

Clarification
In our October Tech Update, in a piece entitled Docucorp hopes to reanimate itself, we wrote, In hopes of instilling a bit of hybrid vigor in its line of core technologies, Docucorp has integrated XML capabilities into on-the-market solutions.
Concerned that our article made its product enhancements look look to be a feeble attempt by a fragile company to make a last effort to keep the bankruptcy court from shredding us apart, Docucorps senior corporate communications specialist, Tim Searson, pointed out that the company [has] been in business since 1982 and for fiscal 2001, we posted a 24 percent increase in revenues, and income was 127 percent over the previous year.
We regret any inference that the company is in anything but excellent shape!
