Cargo insurers can now drop anchor in front of their computers when processing ocean cargo policies, thanks to Ocean Cargo Expeditor, a new Web-based system from Adaptik Insurance Solutions (www.adaptik.com).
According to the company, the product enables insurers to process business over the Web in six weeks. It features real-time assessment, rating, quoting, and binding in less than 10 minutes; account screening and referrals; and 24/7 availability for inquiries and transactions.
“For years, ocean cargo insurance division managers have run profitable operations, but their revenue base could not support a major systems development initiative to provide the requisite tools to fully service their producers and customers,” said John Pettit, president of Adaptik.
