Daniel Wadley joined Endurance Specialty Holdings as executive vice president and head of the Endurance Pro insurance division. Wadley joins Endurance from AXIS Insurance.
Sihle Insurance Group promoted Larry McLean to director of sales and agency relations and also named him agency partner. McLean previously served the agency as a commercial lines agent.
Mary Castiglia joined Hub International Insurance Services as senior vice president of the San Francisco Commercial division. Castiglia will oversee producer recruitment, business development and sales.
SterlingRisk appointed Mark Esobedo vice president of sales for the Utah division of the insurance brokerage. He brings more than 20 years of experience in P&C insurance.
Susan Tenney joined Assurance as vice president. She has more than 18 years of experience in medical malpractice and professional liability for the healthcare industry.
AmWINS announces three new promotions to senior vice president: Craig Dunn of AmWINS Brokerage of Texas in Dallas, Gary Buchanan of AmWINS Brokerage of New York and Jennifer Mier of AmWINS Brokerage of Texas in Dallas. The brokerage also promoted three to vice president: Jon Danile of AmWINS Brokerage of New York, Mike Hines of AmWINS Brokerage of Georgia and Tim Crvarich of AmWINS Insurance Brokerage of California in San Francisco. Theresa Lally of AmWINS Brokerage of New York was promoted to executive vice president.
IIABA named Sen. David Vitter (R.-La.) as the Gerald Solomon-IIABA Legislator of the Year 2012. Vitter was elected to the Senate in 2004 and re-elected in 2010. He is the top Republician on the Committee on Environment and Public Works and also serves on the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, and the Committee on Armed Sercices. “Sen. Vitter has a long track record of standing up for small business, including independent agents in Louisiana and across the country,” said Bob Rusbuldt, Big “I” president & CEO, when presenting the award. “In his important role on the Senate Banking Committee, which has primary jurisdiction over insurance issues, he's a key decision-maker on issues that directly impact our members. We thank him for his leadership before Congress and in Louisiana to protect America's Main Street businesses and as a steward of taxpayer dollars.”
IIABA also issued three agent awards at its Big “I” Legislative Conference. Brian McSherry of Illinois received the Sidney O. Smith Award, bestowed for outstanding service to peers and the national association in the field of government affairs. Steve Thompson of Kentucky is the recipient of the Barney Burns Award for his work as his state InsurPac chairman. The Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa have received the Herndon Award, for the state association's outstanding legislative achievements.
New Programs
IronPro launched Ironshore CrisisShield, which covers professional service expenses related to the development of response strategies that mitigate adverse reputation consequences of certain specified risk events. CrisisShield is available by endorsement to IronPro insureds and covers pre- and post- crisis management event costs incurred by these services. Response costs are covered for a range of crisis occurrences, including executive misconduct, employment practices, bankruptcy, and cyber threats, among others.
Product Safety and Contamination insurance is now available from Risk Placement Services. The exclusive program is underwritten by Manchester Underwriting Management. Limits are available from $500,000 to $15 million. The policy covers contamination or defects from biological, physical, chemical, allergens and cross-contamination. Target clients are between $20 million and $100 million in sales.
Glatfelter launched private and charter school insurance in the states AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, ID, MA, MD, MI, MN, NH, NJ, NM, OH, OR, PA, UT and WI.
