Zeke Lollis joined Rosenfield Einstein as a shared services specialist in the firm's employee benefits division. He previously spent several years with the human resources divisions of Greenville Technical College and Clemson University. He will focus on employee benefit program support and client service.

Crystal & Co. announced three key hires: Jonathan Gilbert was named managing director for the firm's national mergers & acquisitions practice; he will serve the needs of private equity firms, hedge funds and corporate clients. Herb Selander was named senior consultant and will assist in developing risk management strategies. Raymond Bascio joined the company as executive managing director, national sales leader; he will drive growth across all sectors and geographies.  

Gretchen Hayes was appointed to the Dovetail Insurance board of directors. She has more than 25 years of industry experience and was most recently chief industry practice officer for AIG. She has extensive P&C underwriting, insurance technology, data analytics, client and broker relationship management and U.S. and international sales strategy experience.

Ironshore Inc. chose Susan Pateras to fill the role of senior vice president, healthcare practice leader of Iron-Starr after the company's entrance into the Bermuda healthcare market. Pateras comes to Iron-Starr from Integro Insurance Brokers.

Mark Maxson was welcomed to JLT Reinsurance Inc. as executive vice president of its West Coast operation. Maxson has more than 25 years of insurance and reinsurance experience and previously worked for Willis Re in the production and servicing of property-casualty.

Utica Mutual Insurance Co. selected two assistant vice presidents: Matthew W. Fowler and Russell E. Lee. Fowler joined Utica National as personal lines product manager for the midwest region and has previous experience with product development capacities with GMAC Insurance Corp., Republic Mortgage Insurance Co. and QBE North America. Lee joined Utica National as personal lines product manager for the company's New York territory and has previously worked for The Hartford, CUNA Mutual Group, RLI Insurance and Caterpillar Inc.

Arthur J. Glatfelter, the founder of Glatfelter Insurance Group, died on February 14 2013 at the age of 88. Tony Campisi, the company's president and CEO, said, “Art built a strong company and continued to work tirelessly to serve the needs of the insurance industry up until his retirement last year.” The company will hold a public rememberance and celebration of Glatfelter's life at a TBD date.

The Professional Insurance Marketing Association (PIMA) recently held its 39th Annual Meeting, where it elected its 2013 leaders. Samuel Fleet, president and CEO of AmWINS Group Benefits was installed as PIMA president. Other officers include:

  • Daniel O'Brien: president-elect
  • Michael Mercer: treasurer
  • Mark Kelsey: secretary

Swiss RE plans to open a representative office in Bogota, Colombia after receiving approval from the Colombian Superintendent of Finance. Swiss RE is hopeful that a local representative office will accelerate the growth of its Colombian and Andean markets as well as allow the company to use its financial strength and global experience in support of the region's economic development.
