Dempsey Partners announced the appointment of Martin J. Ross III as director of business development for its Forensic Analysis practice. He will develop and leverage executive-level relationships within the commercial insurance industry. He was previously vice president of Business Insurance magazine. 

Sheri Wilson was named national property claim director by Lockton Cos. She will serve as an expert resource for all of Lockton's claims operations and has more than 20 years of industry experience. 

The International Insurance Society (IIS) chose Gary M. Comerford to fill the role of chairman of the IIS Ambassadors. Comerford is executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Reinsurance Group of America Inc. The IIS Ambassadors is a group of 30 dedicated IIS members. 

Thomas Zacharopoulos, managing principal and Integro's market relations leader, will assume the role of Chicago operations leader. He follows Nancy Aque, who recently announced her intention to retire later this year. Zacharopoulos was previously vice chairman and national client development leader of the financial products practice at Marsh USA. 

NAS Insurance Services added two senior executives to its growing underwriting team: Chris Reese joins as vice president and Brook Dutcher as assistant vice president. Reese returns to NAS after time as vice president for Chivaroli & Assos. Dutcher is also product specialist for the Cyber Liability product team. 

Douglas S. Gordon joined Neace Lukens as senior vice president. Gordon was formerly with Douglas S. Gordon Insurance Services and brings more than 30 years of industry experience to the company. 

Willis North America made three key appointments in an effort to strengthen its Massachusetts operations: Todd Granger was appointed executive vice president and human capital practice leader, Julie Powers was appointed executive vice president of Willis' property-casualty service team and Steve Schoenberger was appointed vice president of the company's property-casualty middle market production team. In addition, the company relocated and expanded its Boston properties and signed a 5-year lease to occupy 8,000 square feet in Billerica, Mass. 

 

New Programs

Burns & Wilcox is the newest preferred provider of the Iroquois Group. Burns & Wilcox will provide Iroquois Member Agents access to the company's brokerage, property-casualty, professional liability, transportation, environmental and personal insurance product offerings. Through its association with Iroquois, Burns & Wilcox agents and brokers will gain access to national, regional and specialty insurance carriers; assistance with market optimization; and strategies to maximize agency revenue, profit and value. 

Hiscox launched Hiscox Professional Liability Portfolio. The new product offers customized policy forms for certain client segments and includes common and simplified policy language. Other features include:

  • Targeted, industry-specific policy forms
  • Wider base coverage
  • Cross-selling opportunities.

Enservio introduced a co-party activation debit card for insurance claims payments. The card has been used to settle more than $100 million in claims so far and is applicable for auto, personal property, dwelling and liability payments. The patented electronic settlement system is based on technology that requires both parties to activate their separate cards in order for funds to be accessed.

Starr Indemnity & Liability Co. was granted permission to participate as an Approved Insurance Provider in the federal crop insurance program for 2013 by the Risk Management Agency of the United States Dept. of Agriculture. Starr will be working with International Ag Insurance Solutions, the program's managing general agency.
