Highmark Insurance named Julia R. Babbitt president. She previously served as the agency's executive vice president and cultivated an extensive network of industry professionals, allowing Highmark to add new clients every day without advertising to the public.

Joe Drozda joined Norman-Spencer Agency Inc. as director of sales. He previously occupied several positions with LexisNexis, including sales strategy and planning manager. His expertise in building effective sales teams will benefit Norman-Spencer.

Markel hired Ann Marie O'Flynn as director and underwriter within its casualty facultative product line. She has more than 15 years of industry experience and held the title of vice president and reinsurance officer with Lexington Insurance prior to joining Markel. 

Anne Anderson was promoted to head of Integro's New York office. She has more than 25 years of industry experience and has worked with Integro since 2005.

Iroquois South announced the addititon of Pat Truax as regional manager for Florida. Truax has more than 25 years of industry experience in the region and previously worked with Appalachian Underwriters, Allstate and Zurich.

 

New Programs

Stonebridge Underwriters Inc. launched two new professional programs: management/professional liability and EPLI/third party liability for public entity and school board officials. Both include:

  • Non-monetary relief defense expense reimbursement
  • Disciplinary proceedings expenses
  • Reimbursement for loss of earnings.

Frank Crystal & Co. unvieled its new identity as Crystal & Co. The firm was established on Wall Street in 1933 and will celebrate its 80th anniversary next year under the new name.

Tequesta Agency has changed its name to Tequesta Insurance Advisors in order to reflect the true nature of the company. Its values remain the same: “to be fair, honest and professional while cultivating relationships for the long term.”

The Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New Jersey (IIABNJ) swore in officers for the 2012/2013 year at its 119th annual business meeting & networking event:

  • Roger Leonard, AAI of Leonard-O'Neill Group — chairman
  • Marianne Speakman of Chibbaro Brothers — chairman elect
  • Frank A. Jones of William R. Mints — vice president
