Christopher Norman has been named general counsel for The Norman-Spencer Agency Inc. He previously represented state and national carriers at a private law firm in Miami, Fla. and will aid Norman-Spencer's executive team with the growth and success of the agency.
Aon Risk Solutions appointed Edward Reilly and Joseph Russo as senior vice presidents in the construction services group. Reilly will focus on commercial and contract surety efforts in the Northeast region. Russo will oversee the group's strategy, business opportunities and project insurance brokerage.
Dave Snyder joined the Property Casualty Insurers Assn. of America as vice president, international policy in the policy development and research department. He previously held the position of vice president and associate general council of public policy for the American Insurance Assn.
Zurich welcomed Dave Anderson back to Washington, D.C. after six years abroad in the Asia/Pacific region. Anderson will take on the title of credit & political risk director for global business deveolpment. Richard Abizaid will succeed Anderson as the credit & political risk regional manager of Asia/Pacific. Zurich also named Tina Mallie president of programs & direct markets. She replaces Craig Fundum, who was appointed president of commercial markets and customer industry segments.
Stephen Holcombe was named Northeast/Mid-Atlantic sales represntative by Venture Insurance Programs. He will focus on gaining submissions and building relationships in his region.
Mergers & Acquisitions
OneBeacon Insurance Group acquired Public Entities of America (PEA). PEA is a wholesale brokerage headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., specializing in public sector government clients.
New Programs
Acadia Insurance is offering inland marine coverage for museums, fine art dealers and collectors in New England and New York. Program details include:
- Valuable protection on-site, in transit or on loan at another location
- Coverage for floods and earthquakes
- Partial loss diminished value coverage in case of damage.
Acadia will cover museum collections valued up to $10 million, dealer collections valued up to $2 million and private collections valued up to $5 million.
American Collectors Insurance updated its specialty coverage for valued collections. The program includes:
- Coverage during shipment
- Full collector value coverage
- Protection against natural disasters and theft
- Deductables from zero to $5,000.
Agents and brokers in all 50 states can provide the coverage, which can be customized to work for a wide range of collectibles such as coins, stamps, books, auto memorabilia, guns, figurines and model trains.
PartnerOne Environmental formed a partnership with Berkley Environmental to provide site pollution liability. The product includes:
- Coverage of on and off-site clean-up
- Defense costs and damage claims
- Injury of third party
- Premiums beginning at $3,000.
