Progressive Insurance announced it is offering mobile quoting and selling capabilities to its more than 35,000 independent agents through the carrier's agency-dedicated Web site, ForAgentsOnly.com. The site is now accessible from tablets, so agents can quote and sell personal passenger auto insurance anywhere, anytime.
"Our agents are busy, on-the-go professionals, and we're finding new ways to break down the barriers to doing business quickly and easily wherever they go," says Karen Barone, Progressive's agency distribution business leader. "We'll continue producing technology that helps agencies grow their business and stay better connected with their customers."
Agents using iPads can quote and sell policies. Android compatibility is expected to arrive in the next few months.
The enhancements are part of a push to offer cutting-edge mobile technology. Earlier this year, Progressive made advancements to its customer-facing technologies by adding VIN scan, severe weather text alerts, and Snapshot discount updates to its list of mobile offerings, which also includes finding a local agent, claims reporting, and bill pay.
"We live in a mobile marketplace and providing agents with this capability will help them stay competitive and connected with both Progressive and their customers," says Matt Lehman, Progressive's mobile business leader. "We'll continue looking for more ways to enhance our mobile technology offerings to create efficient business processes for agents that help them better manage their workflow demands."
Progressive plans to roll out additional enhancements this year, adding to its slate of mobile offerings and apps.
