Chicago-based insurance broker Hub International Ltd. says it has acquired two Texas-based agencies: the Roy Agency Inc. of Plano, Texas, and Roeder & Moon Inc. (R&M) of Dallas.
Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
Founded in 1988, Roy provides commercial property and casualty insurance and risk-management solutions.
Founded in 1931 and family-owned and operated since its founding, R&M is a brokerage firm serving businesses and individuals in the greater Dallas area.
Over the past 20 years, R&M has developed a niche in arranging insurance and risk-management programs for the entertainment industry, including coverage for TV shows, feature films, commercials, concerts, special events, film festivals, entertainers, recording studios, equipment rental companies, post-production facilities and nonprofit arts organizations. The firm represents insurance carriers with specialized departments for these risks and develops coverage forms to address unique exposures.
The Roy team and R&M will become part of Hub International Rigg (Hub Texas).
Roy's agency principals and founders—Denise M. Roy, president; Christopher J. "CJ" Roy, vice president; and Jeffrey Moon Evans, president of R&M—will join Hub Texas. The R&M team will move into Hub's existing Dallas offices.
Executives and associates with the two firms will report to Gregory Louvier Sr., president and chief operations officer of Hub Texas.
