L&T Infotech has launched a mobile strategy for insurance framework aimed at accelerating the adoption of mobile applications.

Referred to as MoST-i, the framework offers insurance companies an approach for defining and implementing an actionable mobile strategy that aligns with enterprise business and IT goals.

Growing client demand for service differentiation and competitive pressures are driving insurance companies to implement mobile applications primarily in the areas of marketing, client service and claims notification, L&T Infotech says. However, in the absence of an enterprise-wide mobile strategy, these implementations remain fragmented point solutions.

L&T Infotech hopes MoST-i will enable insurance companies to identify opportunities to leverage mobile technologies internally and externally, supported by a clearly articulated business case. The framework further establishes a strong foundation for implementation including technology platforms and operational policies.

The MoST-i framework is defined in 3 layers—information foundation, consulting methodology, and an adoption toolkit—which together equip insurance companies for a successful mobile implementation initiative.

The framework also presents guidelines for building upon this base to culminate into a Mobile Center of Excellence (CoE). Furthermore, the MoST-i framework is supplemented by the insurance Mobile Components (iMC) that is aimed at expediting implementation of mobile application by 40 percent.
