Earning an award that is decided based on customer recognition becomes much easier when the award, in this case a RAVE Award, goes to a company whose stated mission is to provide exceptional, ongoing value to its clients.

That is how Janeen Blanton, vice president of the insurance division, describes her company, ATSC, which won the RAVE Award for service.

"We firmly believe that the only way to do this is to build and maintain relationships," says Blanton. "It's not our job to come in and tell our clients what to do. It's our job to listen, understand, and collaborate with our clients to achieve the best possible solution."

The ATSC Insurance Group provides management and technology consulting service offerings ranging from strategic planning through all levels of implementation. Throughout its history, ATSC has helped over 80 insurance carriers and MGAs evaluate, select, and implement policy, claims, and billing systems.

Listening to clients is absolutely critical to a company's success, according to Blanton. ATSC never enters into an engagement with a preconceived agenda, she explains.

"As consultants, it is important for us to remain vendor agnostic so we can objectively present all meaningful technology options to our clients," says Blanton.

"Our group is not interested in implementing technology for technology's sake. The bottom line is that any application of technology must be for the benefit of the business. As such, we make sure to provide ample time to talk with people in all levels of the client organization, not only about their system challenges, but also their business goals and vision."

Blanton believes it is important for ATSC to keep up with the various products in the insurance technology space, as well as with technology developments in general.  However, it is equally essential that the company understands the challenges and opportunities the insurance market itself presents, including emerging products and an ever-changing regulatory and economic landscape.

"We are committed to continuous improvement and rely upon our client's feedback as we further refine our service offerings," says Blanton.
