Cloud is a great paradigm change that can provide great benefits, but having been in the insurance and technology industry for some time now I think back to the days when everyone said SOA was going to redefine our marketplace or the Internet was going to change everything. It's great that these technology enablers exist, but they do not diminish the need to make certain decisions that are cost effective but still allow you to operate your business. Organizations need to evaluate cloud computing as part of their overall infrastructure and technology strategy, but it can't be said that cloud is the silver bullet that will solve all their problems.
