Hyland Software has addressed many issues organizations face in getting the work done with the release of version 9.2 of its electronic content management suite OnBase.
Technology is ingrained in business processes, and sometimes can separate workers from the job that needs to be accomplished. The latest version of the OnBase ECM suite features over 850 additions and enhancements, including a full-featured offline client, Mobile Workflow for BlackBerry and workflow integration with Microsoft Outlook.
"Our customers expect solutions that address not only what work is being done, but how it is done," says A.J. Hyland, president and CEO of Hyland Software. "With this in mind, we worked directly with them to develop OnBase 9.2. And after spending 40 man-years developing and testing the release, I know that it delivers exactly what our customers want – a bridge that helps them get work done better and faster, no matter where they are or what other pieces of technology are involved."
Among the additions and enhancements that have implications for insurers:
? Offline client: Provides a working OnBase client from anywhere, even if there's no Internet access. Claims adjusters in the field can enter notes, scan documents, fill out electronic forms and retrieve documents from OnBase while disconnected. Once they reconnect, the information automatically synchronizes with the rest of the system.
? Document Composition: Automatically generates and sends documents required as part of a process. Insurance law mandates agencies send certain pieces of communication when a claim is received. Previously managed by dedicated staff, OnBase now automates these tasks.
? Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standard compliance: Addresses the specific requirements of the standard by encrypting the physical files and the credit card account values, making the information impossible to extract from the system, even if it is severely compromised.
