Vertafore, a provider of software and services to the insurance industry, has announced plans to move its largest data center to a hosting facility in Fort Worth, Tex., operated by Savvis, a provider of managed and outsourced IT services.
Vertafore will continue to manage its SaaS-based products internally, while Savvis will operate Vertafore's scale-related IT infrastructure. Vertafore's products will continue to run on company equipment managed by Vertafore employees.
"The new data center will give our customers faster results and greater peace of mind," says Darryl Lemecha, Vertafore CIO. "Savvis' facility allows us to better accommodate the rapid growth of our SaaS offerings, and our customers will benefit both from Savvis' dedication to data center infrastructure and from continued product innovation from Vertafore. This move will allow us to focus on what we do best: creating, delivering, and supporting our suite of industry-leading products."
By co-locating its hosting services in the Savvis facility, Vertafore will increase its network performance through greater bandwidth and connectivity. Additionally, the facility offers 24x7 surveillance and generators to ensure uninterrupted availability of Vertafore's hosted solutions.
The move, which should be completed by May 2010, will be seamless due to the use of remote data replication and duplicate hardware. Customers will not experience any disruption to their service during the transition.
