ISCS, a leading provider of policy administration systems for property/casualty insurers, has announced its new Web 2.0 direct-to-consumer personal auto policy quoting, purchase, and issuance product as an addition to the standard feature set of SurePower Innovation, the company's insurance automation solution.

Property/casualty insurers need to automate critical business processes, including policy administration, underwriting, and billing, to achieve and maintain a competitive advantage. Implementing self-service capabilities, including developments such as SurePower Innovation's new DTC portal, is a primary way insurance companies can take advantage of technology to build a better rapport with customers.

ISCS's DTC portal enables insurance carriers and MGAs to roll out quickly Web applications for DTC insurance quoting and purchasing; automate online quoting, sales, and consumer self-service; and utilize analytics.

ISCS's development process includes testing with actual target customers in their home settings and with focus groups. This method optimizes the logical default choices, number of defaults for the form fields, and question order and grouping and ensures consumer understanding of form label language.

"Without compromising security, we used modern, user-friendly Web 2.0 techniques for this product, writing it in Adobe Flex coupled with cloud computing services for address verification, VIN look-up, mapping, and best agent selection," says Myron Meier, vice president of product development for ISCS. "This structure is inherently ready for future Web services the tech industry will develop. Optionally, the ability to deploy the product using cloud computing capacity provides almost instant scalability to cost-effectively match variable customer traffic without adding more internal IT infrastructure that will sit idle much of the time."
