The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America said Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., is scheduled to address the Annual Young Agents and InsurPac state chairpersons' legislative luncheon next month at IIABA's Washington meeting.
IIABA's said the Young Agents event will be held at noon on April 29 during its National Legislative Conference and will also feature the presentation of the annual InsurPac National Championship awards, Young Agent of the Year and Eagle awards.
"Rep. McCarthy is a respected leader in Congress with a proven record on issues important to independent insurance agents and brokers," said Charles E. Symington, Jr., IIABA senior vice president for government affairs.
Rep. McCarthy serves on the House Financial Services Committee, which oversees the insurance industry. Prior to his election to Congress, Rep. McCarthy was a small business owner and served in the California Assembly.
This year's conference will take place April 29 through May 1 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.
