James A. Goodman was named the president of the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut during the group's annual conference yesterday in Mashantucket, Conn.
Mr. Goodman is president of Goodman Insurance Inc. in Shelton, Conn. He will lead the association of a term of one year.
An active member of PIA Conn., he served as president-elect of the association for 2007-2009, vice president in 2005-2007 and treasurer in 2004-2005. He also served as secretary in 2003-2004.
The association also named:
o President-elect: Howard Olderman who is president of The Olderman and Hallihan Agency Inc. in Ansonia, Conn.
o Vice president: James Berliner who is a managing member of Berliner-Fitelson Insurance LLC in Bridgeport, Conn., and president of Berliner-Gelfand & Co. Inc., also of Bridgeport.
o Vice president: Timothy Russell, a senior member of The Russell Agency LLC in Southport, Conn.
o Treasurer: Brian Schmitt Sr. president of Curtiss, Crandon & Moffette Inc. in Trumbull, Conn.
o Secretary: Augusto Russell, a producer and partner at May, Bonee & Walsh Inc. in East Berlin, Conn.
o Michael F. Keating, will serve as immediate past president. He is president of Michael J. Keating Agency Inc. in West Hartford, Conn.
The association also announced the election of the following officers for the Connecticut Young Insurance Professionals.
o Angela Brunetti, of The Distel Group in Farmington, Conn., will serve as president.
o Shannon Rabbett Hollman of The Rabbett Insurance Agency in Windsor, Conn., will serve as vice president.
o Raymond Snow of General Casualty in Weatogue, Conn., will serve as treasurer.
o Lucy Andrade of Goodman Insurance in Shelton, Conn., will serve as secretary.
