Mitch Blaser was named the chief executive officer of Ironshore Bermuda the Hamilton, Bermuda-based specialty insurer Ironshore Inc. announced today.
In addition to being the CEO of Bermuda, Mr. Blaser will continue to serve in his capacity as chief operating officer and CFO of Ironshore's Global Operations. The CEO position is new to the company, the firm said.
Prior to joining Ironshore, Mr. Blaser was the chief financial officer for Swiss Re's Americas Division and also served as a director of Swiss Re America. Before Swiss Re, he was part of the leadership team at Marsh where he served in a variety of roles, including global CFO and head of technology and corporate services. Mr. Blaser also served as a member of Marsh's board of directors.
He has been with Ironshore since the company's launch in January 2007. Ironshore said he was an essential part of the core management team who, along with Bob and John Clements, founded Ironshore in late 2006.
