Great American Insurance, Philadelphia Insurance, NAS Insurance Services are among the specialty market participants that continued to be active in July with product launches targeting human health and social services programs.
Great American Insurance Group's Specialty Human Services Division in Cincinnati announced that it is now offering Data Compromise coverage for human and social service organizations.
Data Compromise provides coverage for the costs of notifying customers or clients of the theft, loss or mistaken release of private information. It also provides for the cost of services like credit monitoring or identity restoration to help victims of identity theft.
Mike Liguzinski, divisional senior vice president, said, "The majority of human and social service organizations collect and store personal information about customers, employees, volunteers, donors and clientele, adding that the issue potentially affects organizations and businesses of all sizes.
Great American's Data Compromise coverage is available on new and renewal policies as an optional property endorsement on eligible accounts.
Most classes are eligible, the company said, adding that the coverage is subject to an annual aggregate limit of $50,000 and that a deductible of $2,500 per any one Personal Data Compromise applies.
Separately, the insurer's Specialty Human Services Division announced that it has expanded its program for health and fitness clubs to include for-profits.
Newly eligible classes include: for-profit exercise or health clubs, yoga centers, Tai Chi centers, aerobic centers, dance and Pilates studios.
Senior Vice President Rick Hasselbeck said his division has a long history of providing specialized insurance coverages to youth and recreational organizations in the not-for-profit sector. "We are excited about the opportunity to meet the needs of this growing business segment and to extend our expertise into the for-profit community by offering risk management options for health and fitness clubs in the for-profit sector."
Great American's Specialty Human Services Division also offers broad coverages for property, inland marine, equipment breakdown, crime, general liability, abuse/molestation, professional liability, liquor liability, commercial auto and umbrella.
The members of the Great American Insurance Group are subsidiaries of American Financial Group Inc. (AFG), also based in Cincinnati.
Irwin Siegel Agency announced built-in new coverage options to fill gaps that social service organizations may find in current insurance policies, with enhancements for covering environmental claims, volunteer accidents and HIPAA Protection.
The Rock Hill, N.Y.-based specialty agency said the environmental coverage offers protection for claims resulting from pollution conditions both at the insured location and during transportation and covered operations conducted away from the named insured's premises.
The policy helps close gaps that may occur with multiple insurance policies, premiums and deductibles by insuring facilities, disposal sites, transportation and covered operations under one policy.
Volunteer Accident Coverage complements an organization's general insurance policy. Since claims are paid under an accident medical program, these claims may not affect the organization's general liability, workers' compensation or other general insurance policies. It helps to fill gaps in personal insurance while making volunteers feel more secure. Volunteers can receive a benefit to help ease the financial impact of a covered accidental injury.
HIPAA Protector and Medefense, the agency said, protect an organization regarding current rules restricting use of patient information. The coverage provides for defense costs and civil fines and penalties levied by governmental agencies resulting from violations of HIPAA.
Irwin Siegel Agency, which specializes in coverage for agencies within the social service, developmental disabilities, addiction treatment, nonprofit and mental health care fields, said its programs are available exclusively through independent agents and brokers.
After launching new property-liability packages for substance abuse facilities and for home care and hospice services in June, Philadelphia Insurance hit the drawing board again, coming up with a new product for adoption agencies.
Bala Cynwyd, Pa.-based Philadelphia Insurance Companies said the product offers comprehensive coverage for general liability, professional liability, property, inland marine, crime, abuse and automobile.
Acceptable classes include Hague accredited agencies handling both domestic and international adoptions. Adoption exposures written in conjunction with otherwise acceptable social service operations are also eligible, the insurer said.
Encino, Calif.-based NAS Insurance Services announced that it has expanded its Abuse/Molestation Legal Expense insurance to include individuals, groups and businesses that sponsor events on their premises.
The sponsors could include homeowner associations, property managers or land owners, NAS said.
In addition, NAS said the following entities can be covered: mental health services, nursing homes, schools, churches, camps, school bus companies and community theatre/arts programs.
