K&K Insurance offers new event cancellation program
K&K Insurance Group Inc. announced an insurance program designed to protect event organizers, promoters or sponsors against cancellation, abandonment, postponement, interruption, curtailment or relocation of insured events. Ancillary coverage includes failure of television transmission of an insured event due to any cause beyond the control of the insured or participants.
The policy is extended to cover penalties imposed by the venue for failure to vacate the premises and extra expenses incurred to alleviate loss.
An event organizer's revenue is at risk from power failure, damage to leased or rented venue, damage to surrounding venues or infrastructure resulting in lack of access, failure of public transport facilities or denial of access, natural catastrophe, adverse weather conditions, nonappearance of key individuals, inability to erect facilities at venue, disease outbreak, strike risks, failure of TV broadcast and other previously unforeseen causes. The policy covers the normal contractual relationships of an event organizer that can be adapted for any changed circumstances.

Zurich Environmental unit launches online spill reporting system
Zurich has launched Zurich's Spill Reporting Online System, which will assist North American customers with the cleanup of spills of hazardous materials, fuel or other regulated materials.
Free to Zurich Environmental customers, the online system will assist in dispatching cleanup contractors, reducing costs associated with environmental releases, expediting regulatory reporting and mitigating potential liability.
Zurich is collaborating with Spill Center, an environmental spill management specialist with more than 15 years of experience. Spill Center maintains a database of more than 3,000 contractors throughout North America to assist customers in identifying local resources for spills. Spill Center also assists in coordinating local, state and federal release reporting, monitors nearly 30,000 federal, state and local jurisdictions across the U.S., tracks changes in regulations, and maintains current environmental reporting regulations and contact information.
Users of the system receive electronic copies of paperwork generated by the spill incident, including an open release report, contractor retention documentation, regulatory paperwork, invoices and a closing report.

Fireman's Fund offers expanded liquor liability for upscale restaurants
Fireman's Fund has removed liquor receipt restrictions for upscale restaurants because of the growing trend of such restaurants offering late-night wine, cocktails and a limited menu.
Focus group research has shown that restaurants with affluent clientele are interested in a full menu of coverage options, including unemployment discrimination, communicable disease expense, food spoilage and data compromise coverage.
Expanded coverage options include food server tips included in business income, business access coverage, crisis management coverage, per location liquor liability aggregate and wine valuation at menu selling price.

The Hartford and Progressive announce alliance
The Hartford Financial Services Group and Progressive Casualty Insurance Co. have announced an alliance that will offer a comprehensive package of insurance products that banks and their agents can access from one source. Progressive, the A+ rated underwriter for the ABA-sponsored insurance program, currently provides professional liability and bond products to more than 1,700 community banks.
The Hartford, also an A+ rated carrier, offers banks industry-tailored property and casualty insurance that includes bank-specific coverages such as mortgage protection and foreclosed properties, as well as standard-lines coverages like workers' compensation, property and general liability.

NAS introduces NetGuard Plus
NAS Insurance Services introduced NetGuard Plus Insurance. NetGuard Plus includes network security liability insurance covering allegations of breach of privacy, libel, identity theft, slander, defamation and more.
In addition, the policy provides government investigation defense cost insurance for investigations into privacy violations and includes regulatory fines and penalties. The policy also provides first-party coverage for data recovery and customer notification costs for privacy breach and covers rogue employee claims.
The limits go up to $5 million. Minimum SIR is $2,500 and the minimum premium is $1,250.
