WASHINGTON–Julie Rochman, a longtime spokesperson and senior vice president for the American Insurance Association, is leaving the trade group to join a lobbying, public relations and advertising group whose clients include the Humane Society of the U.S.
The Glover Park Group announced Ms. Rochman's appointment today as a senior vice president in its public affairs division.
The company said it offers "critical communications counsel," media relations, public affairs and research–including polling, focus groups and online research.
Ms. Rochman "will lead a range of major corporate and issue-advocacy accounts," according to the company.
Before joining the AIA, Ms. Rochman had served as a vice president for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The New York Times recently reported that The Glover Park Group has been active lobbying against projects backed by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a revamped city charter and construction of a West Side stadium for the New York Jets.
