Guidewire Software, a provider of solutions for property and casualty and workers' compensation insurers, recently released version 4.0 of its ClaimCenter system for property and casualty (P&C) insurance carriers.

In a press release, Guidewire said that ClaimCenter 4.0 seeks to improve insurers' control over their core claim operations by enhancing rules-based automation of the claim process, expanding integration with preferred claim-adjusting business partners, and increasing visibility into key claims performance metrics. It will be in general release on November 30, 2006.

Specific enhancements include:

Claim Incident Reporting – Speeds the loss reporting process by enabling specialized claim intake units to "fast track" claims reporting without the need to link detailed claim attributes to specific exposures.

Geocoding – Assignment of resources to claim activity by skill-set, availability, and proximity to the needs of the claim with distance, maps, and driving directions.

Enhanced Claim Calendaring Capabilities – All claim-related tasks are displayed on a single calendar page for activity tracking, task scheduling, and execution timeliness. Specialized views specific to claim adjusters and claim supervisory personnel are provided.

Enhanced Fraud Detection – Robust business rule capabilities to enable the constant sampling of claim data to assist in identifying potential fraud across the life of the claim.

Public Safety Report Integration – Out-of-the-box integration with Metropolitan Reporting Bureau for the transmission and receipt of public safety report requests.

Bulk Invoice Capabilities – Easily detail and execute a single vendor payment while crediting the payment across multiple claim files.

ClaimCenter Standard Reporting – Claim performance reporting module with 40 pre-built claim management reports.

Enhanced Claim Assignment Capabilities – Expands ClaimCenter standard claim assignment capabilities by enabling simplified configuration of customer-specific claim resource search and assignment criteria.

Advanced Web Interface Framework – Expanded user interface configurability and design flexibility throughout the system.
