American International Marine Agency Inc. said it has beefed up its commercial underwriting capacity by $100 million through an agreement with National Liability and Fire Insurance Company.
New York-based AIMA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of C. V. Starr & Co. National Liability and Fire Insurance Company in Omaha, Neb., is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway group.
A major agency for the marine industry, AIMA said the relationship with insurance companies will allow the agency to immediately offer the commercial underwriting capacity to its clients.
“Our new agreement with National Liability and Fire Insurance Company ensures that AIMA will continue to offer the breadth of tailored marine products and services that have made the company an industry leader for more than 60 years,” said David French, AIMA president.
AIMA produces ocean marine insurance for cargo, hull and marine liability risks, and covers multinationals, importers, exporters, manufacturers and logistics operators.
