A magnetic ink could allow insurance agents to print checks on demand, and adjusters to settle claims on the road. VersaInk, developed for inkjet printers, comes from business software company G7 Productivity Systems.

VersaInk lets users print unblemished documents, photos, images, and bank checks. The magnetic components allow the user to print regulation and federally accepted checks, which was especially effective with hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma, according to the company.

The ink offers protection against fading and fraudulent alterations. Its price is comparable to standard ink and is available for popular printer models including Hewlett Packard, Canon, Lexmark, Dell, and Epson.
