FM Global Makes Fortune 1000 List
NU Online News Service, April 8, 3:41 p.m. EST?FM Global, the Johnston, R.I.-based commercial and industrial property insurer, has for the first time been named to the Fortune magazine list of the 1,000 largest companies in the United States.
The company ranks No. 697 based on fiscal year 2002 revenues.
"This ranking reaffirms that a policyholder-owned mutual insurance company can operate successfully by offering its clients substantial stable underwriting capacity and highly specialized services on a global basis," said Sivan S. Subramaniam, FM Global's chairman and chief executive officer.
FM Global was recognized by another magazine last year, when Global Finance named FM Global as the best property insurer in North America.
