IIABA Market Campaign Adds 18th Insurer

NU Online News Service, March 24, 11:54 a.m. EST?The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America announced that the organization's campaign to market independent insurers to the public has added an eighteenth insurer.

The latest company to join the IIABA "Trusted Choice" initiative is Consumers Insurance, based in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Consumers serves customers in Missouri and Tennessee, and its primary focus is personal and commercial auto policies. The company's stock is majority-owned by independent insurance agents, the Alexandria, Va.-based association said.

Consumers Insurance markets three different tiers of personal automobile insurance, and is a specialty market for such commercial risks as auto dealers, garage and repair operations, commercial auto, inland marine, and towing services.

"Consumers Insurance is a company created by independent agents, with a focus on treating agents like family, thus our support of the "Trusted Choice" initiative is a natural," said Jimmy Clift, chief executive officer of Consumers Insurance.

"Trusted Choice" aims to educate consumers about the value of having an independent agent representing them when it comes to their insurance needs.
