NAMIC Elects Slate of Officers, Directors

NU Online News Service, Sept. 20, 9:51 a.m. EST? The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies has selected its new officers and directors.

NAMIC election of its 2002-2003 slate of officers and directors came during the business session at the Indiana-based group's 107th annual convention in San Diego.

Those elected were: John W. Fisher, president of Auto Owners Insurance Group, Lansing, Mich., chairman; F. Timothy Hegarty Jr., president and chief executive officer of Norfolk & Dedham Group, Dedham, Mass., chairman-elect; Wayne F. White, president of Home Mutual Fire Insurance Co., Conway, Ark., vice chairman.

John T. Hill, chief financial officer of Magna Carta Cos., New York, assumes the post of NAMIC secretary-treasurer.

The three new board members elected were Richard M. Raun, secretary-treasurer of Woodland Mutual Insurance Co., Carlton, Minn.; Barbara Baurer, executive vice president-chief operating officer of Country Insurance and Financial Services, Bloomington, Ill.; and L. Keith Birkhead, chairman, president and CEO of Farmers Alliance Cos., McPherson, Kan.
