ACE USA Creates New Unit

NU Online News Service, Sept. 4, 2:14 p.m. EST?ACE Risk Management, part of ACE USA, Philadelphia, announced the creation of a new unit yesterday, ARM Custom Casualty.

The ARM Custom Casualty unit will specialize in general and product liability coverages for insureds with challenging exposures, the company said.

In addition to providing general and product liability insurance, the company said ARM Custom Casualty can write companion automobile liability coverage. It was explained that, typically, insured programs will be written in excess of a self-insured retention,

ARM Custom Casualty will write primary, as well as buffer layer coverage. In addition, on a select basis, ARM Custom Casualty, in conjunction with other ACE USA resources, will write up to $25 million in insured limits.

The company said ARM Custom Casualty will be led by Dave Brodsky, senior vice president with a team based in New York.

"Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in primary casualty, and has played an important role in the success of ACE Risk Management within our parent organization, ACE USA," said Bill Curcio, president, ACE Risk Management. "We are pleased to offer this new product to our customers and prospective customers in response to changing marketplace needs."

Mr. Brodsky joined ACE USA in August of 1999 as branch manager, New York Region, ACE Risk Management.

ACE Risk Management is part of ACE USA, the U.S.-based operating division of the ACE Group of Companies, headed by ACE Limited. ACE USA provides insurance products and services through the U.S. operating subsidiaries.
