Fireman's Fund Plugs Art Coverage
NU Online News Service, April 26, 10:18 a.m. EST?Fireman's Fund, as part of an effort promoting its abilities as an art insurer, said it has launched a series of art gallery tours with the kickoff yesterday in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The company said its "Art Across America" tours were designed to sensitize art lovers with emerging trends as well as with existing diversity of art expression within their local communities.
Today's event is centered in the Scottsdale Contemporary Art District where attendees tour the Overland Gallery, the May Gallery, Trailside Galleries, Occasions By Design, Wilde Meyer Gallery and Riva Yares Gallery.
The tours include a wide variety of art styles. The Scottsdale event will include Russian expressionism, historical Old West and abstract expressionism genres. Pieces by Remington, Bierstadt and the Taos School, among others will be shown.
Fireman's Fund noted that the company is a specialist in fine art coverage for the home and commercial coverage for galleries and is able to insure "very substantial works" through a "Scheduled Valuable Possessions policy" which connects to a homeowner's policy.
The company noted that it offers knowledgeable technical expertise in claims and in advice to protect against loss.
Fireman's Fund also said it is co-hosting other tours with Architectural Digest in Boston and the District of Columbia in June and October. The magazine will be running gallery guides including an article called, "The Art of Insurance," explaining why fine art needs more than a typical homeowner's policy to protect it against broader perils.
Reprints of the four-page gallery guides will be available at each featured gallery location.Headquartered in Novato, Calif., Fireman's Fund is a subsidiary of Allianz AG.
