Howard Botts has over 30 years of experience developing spatial databases and in computer cartography and Geographic Information Systems. He received a PhD (1983) in Geography from the University of Wisconsin and an MA (1977) and BA Degree (1975) in Geography from Californian State University at Northridge. In addition to being a founder of Proxix Solutions (acquired by CoreLogic formerly First American Spatial Solutions in 2007), he is a professor of Geography at the University of Wisconsin -Whitewater with former students working for Insurance companies in Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, Market Research, GIS and IT departments throughout North America. Dr. Botts has published extensively and has made 100’s of presentations to business and professional organizations on a variety of topics including hazard database development, new approaches to rating territory creation and assignment, automating risk assignment in underwriting, agent placement and market potential models, and geographically based market analysis. At Corelogic Spatial Solutions Howard heads the Madison, Wisconsin database development office overseeing a team of GIS professionals developing and maintaining hazard databases for the insurance industry.

Steve leads the overall implementation and planning for the Residential Solutions and Analytics Business at Marshall & Swift/Boeckh. In this role, he is focused on aligning all of MSB’s data assets, technologies, vision and innovation with the needs of the organization’s insurance markets. Prior to this role, Steve managed MSB’s corporate strategic initiatives and its Book of Business Management Operations, aligning systems and technology necessary to support insurance-to-value programs for carriers. Additionally, he managed product development and systems implementation for MSB software, web-hosting and associated technology. Before joining MSB, Steve spent four years as a consultant with Deloitte in business process reengineering, custom development and systems integration. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University with a minor in Business.
