Just how severe was that Northeast snowstorm?

Understanding the Northeast Snowfall Impact Scale, and why it matters.

Much of the Northeast experienced the first significant storm of the winter from Jan. 3–5, with many locations in and around Boston seeing more than 12 inches of snow and heavy flooding.

We can take a few inches in stride, but a major Northeast snowstorm, or worse — a series of them as we had in 2015 — can have serious economic impacts.
