The American Insurance Association has reelected Christopher J. Swift chairman of its board of directors. Swift serves as chairman and CEO of The Hartford.

San Francisco-based Epic Insurance Brokers & Consultants has acquired Mahwah, New Jersey-based insurance and risk management services company The Capacity Group. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has created the Innovation and Technology (EX) Task Force to help insurance regulators stay informed on new products and services from start-up companies and established insurance industry players. The task force will meet at the NAIC's Spring 2017 National Meeting in Denver.

The Insurance Marketing & Communications Association (IMCA) will host the next edition of its Leadership Webcast Series on March 28, 2017. Titled “How Insurance-Specific Insight Helps Marketers Optimize Prospects and Nurture Ongoing Customer Relationships,” the webcast will feature Sandeep Kharidhi, vice president, product management – acquisition retention solutions, LexisNexis Risk Solutions. Fargo, North Dakota-based Nodak Mutual Insurance Company has converted from a mutual to stock insurance company, becoming mutual holding company Nodak Mutual Group Inc. and an intermediate stock holding company NI Holdings Inc. NI Holdings common stock is expected to commence trading March 16, 2017 on the Nasdaq Capital Market as (NASDAQ:NODK).

The Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) has formed its first international Regional Advisory Committee. The Toronto, Canada-based committee will be chaired by Sam Slade, vice president of the Gen Re Toronto branch.
